About the Event

Exploring. Touring and Identifyig Debris & Garbage Dumping Sites In Naturena

There are areas in Naturena that are vulnerable to crime and garbage dumping spots. These areas need to be identified and brought to the attention of the Naturena Home Owners Property -Forum. If we ignore these places and pretend someone else or the City of Johannesburg or our counsillors will attend to them, think again.

We need to put "No Dumping Signs" in these vulnerable spots just because we care for our environment and want to keep it tidy and clean. "When you live in filth, you will get nothing but filth. But the worst part comes, when you start to believe  that you deserve nothing but filth". By - Christie Claudia Gomez

Exploring & Taking Pictures:

The quotation above by Christie Claudia Gomez comes as no surprise to me, because every time I take a talk around Naturena or even driving in the neighbourhood. There's filth and ugly vacant spaces where the community dumps building material, garbage and leave dirt and pieces of Simba Chips and Ice cream paper as if our streets and park are a Zoo. I've yet to see any responsible local community member pick up dirt and floating paper to put in the garbage bin. Why is this?

Activity For This Day

We are requesting Naturena Community to take pictures in the neighbourhood and take pictures and tell their story about their finding. The best picture will win a prize or a Checker Voucher. Once this exercise has been achieve we will arrange a special day to put up the No Dumping Signs in this areas. We are also looking for donations to print these boards. If you want to donate please visit this link - and tab above titles "Support to make a donation".
