Soweto has so many surprises and interesting things happening. It is vibrant, lively and still holds that enigma of energy which few people can comprehend. After COVID-19, pandemic you'd think the spirit of entrepreneurship is dead. Surprisingly, life goes on for Lucky Motaung of Kliptown Squatter camp. Imagine a genius being born in a squatter camp?
Lucky Motaung hustles to keep his wits and creative God-given talent, skills sharp and up-to-date has never been easy for this young lad. Lucky's portrait portfolio of art is something to talk about. After all, our politicians and the trade unions have made it difficult to make South Africa an attractive job creation investment destination.
Hustling Beyond Self-pity Is What Lucky's Art Is About
Lucky is a very quiet and dedicated self-taught artist from Soweto. Like most struggling Black Township youth who can not find employment. He earns his living through his artistic talent. His work is displayed and visible to the public at Maponya Mall in Soweto.
It is a pity that the current department of arts and culture will ever reach out to our artists and promote people like Lucky. Our corrupt Ministers and government officials are so shrewd, greedy, self-centered, self-righteous, walk-on-water and proud. Non of them remember how all South Africans contributed to our political liberation. The ANC did not work alone to achieve the status quo of the struggle against Apartheid. Soweto was the place that sparked the June, 16 1976 - Soweto Riots. (I was one of those liberators of the struggle). What did I get! NOTHING!
Family Portraits Art Direct To The Public
Art is one element that few African people take seriously as a money vehicle to enhance their financial investment portfolio to grow or diversify their assets. This is where the potential to assist upcoming artists thrive and become independent business men and woman. By creating local and international celebrities art portfolio to archive our crafts and history of art for education in schools.
What Lucky charges for his portrait is very affordable compared to international or famous international artists. For us South African public, we should be able to support our youth. Boost their moral to build a strong productive work-ethic. This is how wealth and economic liberation is created. Other alternatives is to encourage them to tap into the international market. This article tries to serve this purpose. The International Art Market is always hungry and looking for new talent and artists to exhibit their work for investments purposes.

Portrait artists should be treated like royalty because they possess rare, special quality and VALUABLE skills that could become part of our history in the archive or arts and culture. Arts and Culture Department is not doing enough to expose our creativity, talents, culture and creative field in the world of art & crafts. Otherwise, this country would not be a paradise for crime and thugs who get away with murder under Mr. Bheki Cele's management and ministry.
Tourism who not be strained to attract economic robust activities if, this was not the case.
Instead, the minister of Police keeps mumbling unacceptable excuses why he can't fight crime, but overwhelmed by incompetency of his department to stop killing of tourists in Mpumalanga and elsewhere in our country.

How is South Africa going to liberate our economy if our people do not support local small businesses, local crafts and local struggling artists? Private corporate companies are least interested in making a difference to uplift our communities if we do not stand up and do something about it.
