Help Wanted To Sort-out Vesting & Malta Street Safety Chaos

Updated: Oct 19, 2023

An article about children's safety and the chaos that reigns around these two streets in Naturena is not something new. Naturena Primary School management and reference to the schools' SGB had also been amplified. If I'm the only person worried sick about safety of these children as a resident, am I the only one with common sense and everybody else is delusional? At what point are authorities and local councilor going to take this matter seriously before disaster happens?

Children's safety in school should be the responsibility of everyone living in that community. Parents, Metro Police, CPF, School SGB, School Principal and Residents are partly custodians and guardians of our communities, common sense should prevail in building a healthy safe community. Our Community Leaders Need More Leadership Training & Accountability Management Courses To Deal With Social Ills of Our Society. What is the school governing body doing about it. Ever since a petition was sent to the school to attend to it, nothing has been done to address this matter urgently? Does anyone ever care about consequence of what might happen if something went terribly wrong? Accidents don't just happen, they're caused to happen. This is just one of them waiting to happen. Several articles about this issues were written to draw attention to local leaders and authorities to do something about it . Read further -HERE

A copy of this petition was given to our local councilor of ward 119 region (G) Thobile Zondo. It was raised at a residents meeting last year May, 2021 corner Blue Bush & Vesting street as one of community issues affecting our suburb. No answers were forthcoming - WHY?

My contribution to fight and contribute toward the end of Apartheid and my struggle to fight the system has gone to waste. Our society and its communities have become so complacent and have no regard for leadership excellence nor accountable to anyone, but themselves.

During our times in the fight against political struggle to bring Apartheid to an end everyone contributed something to make a difference. We mobilized our community safety and crime prevention program like clock-work to coordinate communication and accountability without "WHATSAPP GROUPS technology and won every challenge like champions in a race against time.

How are we suppose to trust ourselves when these situations become dire and unbearable to cope with? Are we going to pass the buck to some politicians to solve simple problems for us?

Residents, Parents, School SGB, Metro Police & CPF Must Learn to Be Proactive

Every society that must learn to prosper and make their neighbourhood safety and sound starts with people who care and are willing to tackle the bull by its horns. This is what we did during the struggle against Apartheid. We shared responsibilty and were prepared to sacrifice and keep ourselves together for the sake of peace, to let our common sense prevail:

"Are we going to let our common sense die and diminish from our hands- just because we've lost our conscience to do the right thing because we are adults and can take responsibilty to correct what is wrong?"

Why should anyone remind us to do things right, if we can take it upon ourselves to act right in the first place? If something is wrong and needs our attention to be corrected, why should we pass the buck to someone else to do it on our behalf? Let's take a look at our attitude toward true leadership traits and begin to act like grownups.

If Unity Is Strength - Why Are We Failing To - Address The School Safety Issues
  • Why are Black people free in South Africa, yet we've lost the ability to think and use common sense to solve community issues without ignoring our own input to make a difference?

  • Are we also going to ignore "SPAZA-SHOPS" that sell drugs and benzine to our children, just because we're afraid the neighbours will hate us for telling the truth?

  • Are we going to pretend the problem does not exists because it does not affect your child directly to warrant acting on it because you care?

  • Are we so numb with a chip on our shoulders because our freedom has earned us epaulets to think we're untouchable and have earned the right to do as we please, even in the face of danger?

If this is the attitude Blacks of South African suburban residents who have no "DUDULA Affiliation" to invasion by foreign national, to adopt a "lets-take-care-of-our-community" ourselves. I think we are a lost generation that will need brain-surgery to upload a new attitude "App" help our psyche to act wisely in averting potential future problems and challenges every community will face after 2024 elections. You be the judge!

I just read stats of Naturena household and was amazed at the number of residents in this suburb. 😎I notice you have few participants for this forum. What would be the reason? In Ghana & Kenya household forum when I visited this places in 2020 their website forum has over 150,000 readers and community taking part to reform their towns and rural places.😍💋
