Johannesburg Water Untrained Workers Exacerbate Naturena Street Water Leaks

Updated: Mar 9, 2023

No wonder services delivery is becoming a big issue for most townships and suburb the country is trying to deal with. The City of Johannesburg is no exception to the incompetency's with untrained and unprofessional "Unionized" workers. Can residents rely on these unreliable city departments that have lost "what it means to have an uncompromised work-ethics?"

Pictures don't lie. Local authorities and a majority of municipalities are paid hefty salaries, yet the signature they leave after the work is done, leaves a lot to be desired. The question is, how proud are they to be called employees of a "World Class City"?

How Long Should Resident Have T Keep Silent About Poor Service Delivery?

It takes brave people and citizens to raise their voices and begin to challenge those in power and have corrupted our systems. Our freedom as a nation can not rest on its laurels just because they are members of the ruling party i.e., the ANC.

Public servants seem to have forgotten where their salaries come from. Let me remind those with chick and tongue that, our rates and taxes is what pays their salaries.

The city can only keep and maintain services on a monthly basis. Without us as rate payers, the City of Joburg would never be able to receive money from treasury.

Our Rights as Residents & Citizens Should Not Be Taken For Granted.

It is time that residents take a serious move to take municipality and it's workers to account. The only and perhaps best ways to go about this process, is to keep recording and documenting these issues in order to prepare legal action against poor services delivery.

How Residents Can Help Report & Document Issues Affecting Poor Services Delivery

Residents of Naturena have the opportunity, to take seriously matters affecting poor services delivery by the city. It is through reporting and documenting or penning down these affected places, that legal action can be taken against employees, managers and the city. This is my suggestions to the readers.

  1. Take photos of these affected places and report them to a COJ relevant department and keep record of your reference- Ref Click Here

  2. Write down the problem and share it on social media to make public your issue. Always keep a record of your reports

  3. Social Media is also very important to make known these issues to residents before taking the matter to the street and burning tyres.

  4. The purpose of these records is to give ourselves time and the municipality the opportunity to address them with immediate effect.

  5. Failure by the municipality to respond timeously in addressing our problems, then residents can begin a legal action against the city and its respective departments.

  6. Finally, it would be important to ultimately compile a petition for all residents to sign and submit a copy to NHOP forum's attorneys to action our concerns.

Petitions Will Always Come In Handy If Residents Take Part

The city and its employees should be held accountable to the people if they fail to comply with our requests. This way we can help them improve poor service delivery.

It is imperative that we keep the pressure, so that when they lose legal battle against atrocities they've created we can all financially benefit from these proceeds.

Mr. Khonjelwayo, I find it disheartening for COJ especially Joburg Water Services with such poor maintenance proficiency. I think your post is great. Love your articles. ⭐️😎
